      As a kitchen lead, you will report to the executive head chef at Gryphon and provide guidance to the culinary team. You will oversee opening and closing procedures and guide the team in food storage, preparation, and cooking. You will receive and inspect supplies to ensure they meet established quality and quantity standards and specifications. Daily, you will set up the line before service and work at the station during service. Among other duties, you will ensure proper inventory of food products and utensils; cut, trim, and carve bone-in meats and poultry; and maintain a clean environment throughout the shift.

      In this position, you will clean and stock lines for the next day. You will cook or prepare food according to recipes and maintain food safety standards. You will also maintain personal hygiene to ensure safe food practices. Additionally, you will work with all kitchen personnel and hold the team accountable to the highest standards in line with the university's mission, vision, and values.

      Minimum qualifications:  

      • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
      • At least one year of related experience and training or the equivalent combination of education and experience

      Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
