As a learning experience designer (LXD), you will be a vital member of the educational technology team, facilitating a positive, professional, and engaging experience for all users of educational technology at SCAD. Modeling best practices in instructional engagement, you will provide training and technical support to ensure SCAD faculty and students can effectively utilize educational technology to advance learning and engagement across all SCAD locations and learning modalities.

To design engaging courses, you will collaborate with faculty, academic leaders, and other subject-matter experts; identify, create, and curate academic content and artifacts that exemplify engaged teaching and learning; and actively participate in the review, testing, and implementation of system updates and enhancements. Among other duties, you will also produce and deploy transformative student- and faculty-facing technology resources and interactive media for an array of digital platforms (e.g., Faculty Professional Development Portal, Guests & Gusto, SCADextra, Blackboard, MySCAD).

The successful candidate is a superb communicator, able to convey complex information effectively to audiences from diverse backgrounds and levels. Excellent project-management skills are a must, as are the abilities to problem solve, multitask, and achieve measurable outcomes.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Comprehensive work experience related to teaching, educational technology, or related fields
  • Master’s degree preferred

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
