The SCAD FASH Operations Manager is directly responsible for the overall guest experience at the Museum. This position provides leadership and oversight through hands-on management of the Museum operations including student docent program, membership, programs, retail shop, housekeeping and security. Highly-organized, creative and attentive, this position advocates for and implements innovative ideas for service and engagement. Interest in fashion, film, art and design a must. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Arts Administration, Marketing, Fashion, Fine Art or Film.

SCAD Atlanta seeks an experienced, full-time operations manager for the SCAD FASH Museum of Film + Fashion.

In this role, you will be directly responsible for the overall guest experience at SCAD FASH. You will lead and provide hands-on oversight and management of the museum, including the student docent program, memberships, programs, retail shop, housekeeping, and security. You will ensure that both SCAD and non-SCAD groups use the museum building in accordance with appropriate policies, regulations, and safety guidelines; coordinate, schedule, and facilitate group visits and tours to the museum; and oversee the membership program (e.g., cultivation, retention, acquisition of members; payment collection, newsletters, etc.). Among other duties, you will also be responsible for hiring, staffing, and training 12–15 SCAD student docents per quarter and will also collaborate with Giving on building relationships for increased revenue.

The successful candidate is exceptionally organized, creative, and attentive, and is able to implement innovative service and engagement ideas. Prior customer service or retail experience is preferred, and an interest in fashion, film, art, and design is a must. The candidate should demonstrate superb written and verbal interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently. The ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision is also essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in in arts administration, marketing, fine art, or film
  • Two to three years of professional organizational management with internal and external clients
  • Proficient in English, financial report preparation, and POS/inventory control software and hardware

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
