In this role, you will decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures with paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer. You will fill nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty plaster; smooth surfaces with sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool; and simulate wood grain, marble, brick, tile, or other special effects with cloth, brushes, and sponges, among other duties.
The successful candidate is knowledgeable about and adheres to OSHA standards and is able to work independently. Professionalism is also essential.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Five years of painting experience
- Ability to climb and stand for extended periods
- Ability to pass DOT medical exam and a clean driving record
Position Summary: SCAD seeks an experienced painter to join its team full time in bustling Atlanta.
Minimum Qualifications: Effective organizational and communication skills.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be able to pass DOT medical exam.
Certificates, licenses and registrations: Driver's license and clean driving record.
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
