SCAD is seeking an accomplished set designer and art director to join our faculty and shape the next generation of creative professionals. The ideal candidate will combine extensive industry experience with a passion for education, bringing expertise in both traditional and digital design tools with skills in Adobe Photoshop, 3D Modeling in Vectorworks, SketchUp and/or Rhino, along with strong drafting capabilities.

SCAD is looking for a dynamic leader who can inspire and guide both students and faculty through the complete set design process, from initial concept sketches to final fabrication. Your proven track record in set design and art direction, coupled with your ability to energize and motivate teams, will be essential in this role.

As a valued member of our faculty, you will play a key role in delivering and developing our curriculum, while actively supporting SCAD film and television productions. Your expertise will contribute to our program's growth through innovative teaching methods and the creation of new production opportunities for our students.

 

Requirements:

• MFA (or equivalent) in production design or in a relevant field.
• Academic and professional credentials to teach in a certain discipline.
• Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Experience in or knowledge of related professions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MFA (or equivalent) in Production Design or in a relevant field.
  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge of related industries.
  • Ability to be credentialed through SACS guidelines or justified to teach.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Teaching experience at the collegiate level 

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Academic and professional experience credentials to teach in production design 

Travel required:

  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: As noted in the Employment Agreement.
