As a photography retoucher, you will receive assignments from the senior digital artist, adhering to a strict schedule to manage assigned jobs. You will ensure every image file meets department naming conventions and production workflow. You will submit finished projects per job specifications on time or before the due dates. You will also attend weekly department meetings, maintain an orderly workspace, and perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor.

The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, creative problem-solving abilities, and time and project management skills.  The candidate should be able to collaborate with others on large-scale projects, manage multiple projects at once, and work at night or on weekends as needed. They should also display a receptiveness to professional feedback and the ability to uphold quality standards. The candidate will approach each assignment with enthusiasm, creativity, and professionalism. They must be willing to learn and adapt to SCAD standards and techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:      

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software and current retouching techniques
  • Familiarity with or willingness to use a Mac in combination with a Wacom Cintiq tablet
  • Experience with or willingness to use productivity tools like Microsoft Outlook, Slack, and ClickUp

Preferred Qualifications:      

  • Experience retouching a diverse range of subjects (e.g., portraiture, architectural photography, events, and studio setups)
  • Experience in retouching museum exhibition documentation

Travel Required:  

  • Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
