Join SCAD Atlanta as a full-time Professor of Dramatic Writing. In this role, you will teach courses in collaborative TV writers’ rooms, screenwriting and your own area of expertise. You will undertake responsibilities supporting cross-departmental creative initiatives in TV and film productions as well as live and digital immersive experiences.

The ideal candidate has exceptional industry experience, possesses a student-centered teaching philosophy and is committed to the goals of a diverse and inclusive academic department. As an energetic leader, he or she exhibits excellent communication skills, supports an ensemble-based approach and is able to dive into multiple projects at a time.

The position entails modeling professionalism, fulfilling grading and academic documentation requirements, recording attendance, following academic policies and regulations, and supporting academic assessment and institutional effectiveness efforts. Other responsibilities include attending on-ground and virtual events such as faculty meetings and admission events, curriculum assessment and development, institutional effectiveness and accreditation support, and any other events, exhibitions, or publicity assignments. Additional duties may be assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Terminal degree in dramatic writing or equivalent discipline 
• Expertise in TV writers’ rooms and/or collaborative working environments
• Career experience or knowledge in a field related to the discipline 
• Academic and professional credentials to teach in the discipline 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Teaching experience at the collegiate level
• Experience with start-up's entrepreneurial activities, or comparable strategic consulting experience
• Experience working in creative industries  

Travel Required: Less than 10% 

Work Hours: As noted in the Employment Agreement.
