SCAD Savannah seeks an experienced full-time professor of interactive experience and game development to use their advanced knowledge of emerging  interfaces (XR – AR/VR), and their familiarity of game engines for purposes outside of the game industry to instruct and inspire remarkable students as they reach their professional goals.

As an interactive design and game development faculty member, you will work with a team of esteemed professional and academic colleagues in administering program curriculum and fostering a positive community for the next generation of product designers and creative technologists.

The university seeks an experienced candidate that  excels in the visual design of UI/UX for AR/VR products and web applications, and .will encourage innovation that aims to explore creative opportunities and solves real-world problems.. The candidate should be proficient in designing for and deploying interfaces in either the Unity or Unreal game engines. They should also be proficient in industry software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma. Candidates should be enthusiastic about teaching design frameworks beyond Human Centered Design (i.e. Universal Design, Systems Innovation, Speculative Design), and be excited about teaching design that includes meaningful AI interventions.

It is preferred that candidates are competent in Javascript, and other web technologies, and are interested in leveraging this knowledge to instruct designers to use low-code tools (like bubble.io) for building web based minimum viable products (MVP). The ability and interest in using generative AI tools as a part of the interactive experience design process is also preferred. Professional-level visual art and design production experience is preferred, as is university-level teaching experience and online coursework development.

Minimum Qualifications: 

- Terminal degree in the discipline or in a related field. MS in Computer Science or Human Computer Interaction (HCI) will also be considered.
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
- Experience in or knowledge of related professions.
- Academic and professional credentials to teach in a certain discipline.
