The SCAD interior design program offers unparalleled learning experiences that prepare students to excel at top global firms. The interior design B.F.A. and M.F.A. programs challenge creative students to become innovative designers capable of critical thinking and effective communication, while the M.A. program focuses on design research and writing. SCAD students draw on the knowledge and skills gained in interior design courses to win numerous honors from organizations such as the International Interior Design Association, the American Society of Interior Design, and Contract magazine, among others.

As a SCAD professor, you will equip students with the expertise and fluency to employ theory, research, function, culture, material, and technology in the design of interior spaces. With enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence, you will motivate students as they learn to work creatively and critically to design meaningful and memorable solutions for a range of users, clients, and project types. You will also work with an engaging and diverse international student body and faculty in a supportive community environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong professional portfolio as well as teaching experience in conceptual design through design development and construction documents, space planning, FF&E, sustainability, materials, regulatory compliance, and oral and visual presentation. The candidate should also have knowledge of and experience with current and emerging industry software and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

- M.F.A. or its equivalent in interior design or related field

- Portfolio of professional design work

- University-level teaching experience preferred

- National Council for Interior Design Qualification certification preferred

Certificates, licenses and registrations: NCIDQ

Work Hours: As noted in the Employment Agreement.
