SCAD Atlanta seeks a full-time professor of fashion to join the internationally recognized fashion program and help tomorrow’s designers launch their careers. In this position, you will use your enthusiasm for mentoring exceptional students to teach the history of fashion as well as the technical skills necessary for students to hone their abilities. The SCAD fashion program has a strong partnership with several top brands, including Chanel, Dior, YSL, and more, who send representatives to work with SCAD students. From these professional collaborations to the annual SCAD FASHION shows that feature curated undergraduate and graduate work for star-studded audiences, the SCAD fashion program is also the runway from which tomorrow’s designers launch their careers.

The successful candidate has extensive experience in fashion design, including womenswear, menswear, knitwear, contemporary, and denim, among others. Strong technical sewing, flat pattern cutting, and draping skills are vital to this role, as is knowledge of the manufacturing process. The candidate should be proficient in concept development and innovation, from 2D to 3D, and have a broad knowledge of collection development, textiles, and other materials used in creating a final product.

The university, in its sole discretion, may assign the professor to a teaching or non-teaching position as stipulated in the employment agreement.
