SCAD Atlanta seeks a full-time professor of interior design to join one of the most consistently top-ranked interior design programs in the U.S., according to DesignIntelligence.

The SCAD interior design program offers unparalleled learning experiences that prepare students to excel at top global firms. The interior design B.F.A. and M.F.A. programs challenge creative students to become innovative designers capable of critical thinking and effective communication, while the M.A. program focuses on design research and writing. SCAD students draw on the knowledge and skills gained in interior design courses to win numerous honors from organizations such as the International Interior Design Association, the American Society of Interior Design, and Contract magazine, among others.

As a SCAD professor, you will equip students with the expertise and fluency to employ theory, research, function, culture, material, and technology in the design of interior spaces. With enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence, you will motivate students as they learn to work creatively and critically to design meaningful and memorable solutions for a range of users, clients, and project types. You will also work with an engaging and diverse international student body and faculty in a supportive community environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong professional portfolio as well as teaching experience in conceptual design through design development and construction documents, space planning, FF&E, sustainability, materials, regulatory compliance, and oral and visual presentation. The candidate should also have knowledge of and experience with current and emerging industry software and technologies.

Located in the heart of Midtown, SCAD Atlanta is home to a dynamic cultural landscape that includes excellent design centers and showrooms, theaters, museums, fine art galleries, bustling shops, restaurants, and countless green spaces, including Piedmont Park and Atlanta’s famed Beltline.
