SCAD seeks a full-time professor of production design for its Savannah location to help educate and motivate students as they take advantage of Georgia’s thriving film and television industry and the burgeoning production opportunities in the region.

In this position, you will use your knowledge of set, lighting, and design to create professionally oriented learning experiences for students in production design for film and television, performing arts, and themed entertainment design. You will also be an integral part of a collaborative faculty that develops a curriculum that mirrors professional production practice.

The successful candidate has a strong portfolio of work and proficiency with digital design, VR, professional visualization techniques, AutoCAD 3D, and digital rendering. Experience with physical model-making and scenic painting is also a plus.

SCAD production design professors lead the only program in the U.S. that offers a comprehensive approach to entertainment design, from set design and art direction for film and TV to stage productions, live events, theme parks, and immersive attractions. Primed for success, production design students have gone on to win numerous awards, from Walt Disney Imagineering’s Imaginations Design Competition to a Student Emmy for Best Scripted Series, and more.

Listed by MovieMaker Magazine as one of the best small cities in which to live and work as a filmmaker, Savannah offers an inviting climate and culturally rich downtown that creates a real-world workshop for the study of art and design. SCAD blends seamlessly into the Savannah landscape and provides faculty, staff, and students alike an entrepreneurial environment where they flourish.
