As a program and events manager, you will curate engaging programming for SCADFILM events and festivals. You will conduct research and pre-interviews on potential SCADFILM topics and guests and then pitch ideas. You will manage event scheduling and logistics as well as liaise with publicity and legal departments about paperwork, releases, and licensing and media requests. You will also collaborate with SCAD faculty and staff, including the SCADshow Box Office team. Responsibilities include the maintenance of event files and spreadsheets for events and special projects, oversight of the SCADFILM website, event listings, and social media channel, and management of the social media content calendar. Additionally, you will provide administrative support to producers and directors.

In this role, you will serve as host during festivals and events, leading SCAD tours for industry guests and prospective students as requested. You will monitor the entertainment industry in Georgia to network and attend Atlanta events. Responsibilities include transportation management for on-site events at several SCAD venues, coordination outreach at SCAD Atlanta to publicize events to students and staff, and complete outreach to community groups to encourage event attendance. You will publicly speak at events on behalf of SCAD, prepare writeups and scripts, and staff events as needed. Additionally, you will create social media content to support the department and SCADFILM leadership in its mission as the leading producer of premier events for students and professionals working in film, television, animation, gaming, visual effects, screenwriting, performing arts, and video production.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication, strategic thinking, and problem solving skills. They can draft clear, professional correspondence and event documentation. The candidate is comfortable anticipating needs and using organizational tools such as spreadsheets to manage logistics, schedules, and other operational challenges. They exhibit professionalism in both appearance and demeanor. The candidate also displays excellent interpersonal skills and confidence in communicating with industry contacts.

The ideal candidate is comfortable connecting with high-profile visiting guests, students, staff, and faculty. They can maintain confidentiality and handle demanding requests. The candidate is also flexible to accommodate last-minute schedule changes. The ability to travel domestically and internationally with limited notice is necessary.

Minimum qualifications:     
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
• At least five years of experience working in events, or film, tv, or gaming production
• Ability to work nights and weekends

Preferred qualifications:     
• Proficient in organizational tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Air Table, Jot Form, FileMaker Pro, Slack, and Adobe Suite programs

Travel required:
• 10–20%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
