Employee classification: 11 Month Salaried Staff FT
SCAD seeks a full-time, 11-month, live-in residence director for its location in bustling Atlanta.In this role, you will lead a student staff of 10–20 members in developing a community within your assigned residence hall, including the supervisory responsibilities associated with leadership (e.g., interviewing, hiring, training, etc.). You will build working relationships with individual students, educate students and staff, and manage all aspects of your assigned residence hall from staffing and program development to maintenance and addressing student concerns, needs, and behavior. As an advocate for resident and community needs, you will establish an active presence and availability, model appropriate behavior, and serve as an educator, resource, and advisor for students’ academic and personal growth. Among other duties, you will also participate in on-call rotations and serve as essential personnel in the university’s emergency and disaster response plans. In the event of university closures and evacuations, all essential personnel shall report. This role includes an unpaid, four-week, non-working period that is primarily scheduled during the summer months.
