As the senior director of events, you will be responsible for developing the events calendar and securing dates, pitching ideas and concepts to the executive director, and regularly meeting with event staff and the president’s staff as necessary. In this position, you will be required to monitor rental items and purchases, coordinate logistics and timelines/schedules, oversee marketing and PR, and compile a list of all expenses. You will also build relationships with vendors and suppliers — including approving contracts — and oversee the printing of all event materials, such as invitations and signage.

This position involves close collaboration with multiple departments, both internal and external, to ensure the success of all university events. In this role, your responsibilities will include the development of guest lists, the setup and breakdown of events, coordination of security and transportation, and working with city officials to ensure all ordinances and policies are followed. Additionally, you will be expected to interact with guests at events, acting as the host.

 Minimum Qualifications:    

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years of related experience or training  
  • Ability to travel and have a valid passport

Licenses, Certificates, and Registrations: 

  • Valid driver’s license 

Travel Required: 20% to 40% 

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
