12 Month Hourly Staff PT
In this position, you will assist students in checking out tools and equipment at the Gulfstream Center for Design, which serves the SCAD School of Design and the SCAD School of Building Arts. Knowledge of the studio equipment, techniques, and safety procedures these schools use is required for this position. The ideal candidate must be familiar with industrial shop equipment, hand tools, fabrication techniques, applicable computer programs, and safety.
Position Summary: SCAD seeks a Shop Monitor to help maintain the cleanliness and safe operation of design shops in Savannah’s Gulfstream Center for Design.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should be a current or former student in the School of Design or Building Arts and/or have related field experience. He/she must be familiar with the School of Design or Building Arts studio equipment, techniques and safety procedures. Must be familiar with industrial shop equipment, hand tools, fabrication techniques, applicable computer programs, and safety.
Certificates, licenses and registrations: Valid drivers license
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
