12 Month Hourly Staff FT

SCAD Savannah seeks a full-time shop technician for the School of Fine Arts.

In this role, you will oversee all fine arts studios and support labs, including painting and printmaking, lithography and intaglio studios, the dark room, plate room, and the solvent and acid rooms. You will support fine arts students, faculty, staff, and courses through a safe, organized, and inspiring work environment, and you will model professionalism in the fine arts. As a shop technician, you will also oversee the duties of student lab monitors, maintain inventory control and documentation, maintain and repair equipment, organize safety paperwork, ensure labs meet OSHA standards for safety, and assist with department and student exhibitions, among other duties.

Requirements

Knowledge of proper maintenance for studio materials, equipment, and inventory control

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree with a concentration in fine arts is preferred, excellent organizational skills and computer skills necessary.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
