10 Month Salaried Staff FT
SCAD seeks an experienced interpreter and accommodation support specialist to join its team in historic Savannah, Georgia.In this role, your primary responsibility will be to provide communication access for students, with hearing impairments both in and out of the classroom via interpreting, oral interpreting, and/or transliterating. You will provide accessibility services for university departments and initiatives, maintain an active caseload of students with documented accommodation needs, and provide community referrals as needed. You will also attend weekly case conferences and determine academic adjustments or accommodations needed based on Section 504/ADA guidelines, and conduct interventions in crisis situations for students with disabilities as assigned.Among other duties, you will maintain a personal schedule and provide consultations to the SCAD community as they relate to adaptive computer technology, accommodations, and disability matters.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
