As a student success adviser, you will provide proactive student outreach to your caseload (approximately 400-500 students), which is assigned by major, and build relationships though assisting with students’ course selection, providing financial aid advising, and convening the first-year experience course. You will continue to monitor the enrollment and coursework progress of your caseload through ongoing student contact and early alert programming until graduation.

Among other duties, you will coordinate services with various offices on campus (i.e., admission, bursar, student involvement, career services, counseling and academic services) to promote student retention, sponsor programming and counseling on major and minor selection, possess an understanding of all undergraduate programs offered at SCAD, develop programming and training for students to learn new software navigation, participate in orientation activities, and provide regular communication with department chairs and faculty regarding curriculum, course needs, academic policy, and academic advising procedures. You will also participate in the curriculum review process and catalog proofing process with department chairs and deans and assist with faculty advisement.  

This position has the opportunity for a hybrid schedule, with time in office each week, based on university needs. 

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree preferred.

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
