As a supervising producer, you will be an essential part of a collaborative team, promoting a culture of innovation while balancing creative and logistical considerations. You will inspire the team to produce outstanding work; guide the creation of story beats, mood boards, and shot lists for video projects; and certify that visual storytelling aligns with SCAD marketing objectives. You will attend and lead significant video shoots that capture student life, interviews with high-profile subjects, staged marketing content, and more to ensure smooth implementation and adherence to the creative vision. You will also mentor producers and guide coordination with camera crews, stylists, designers, and talent.

In this position, you will scout and secure optimal locations to capture the best visual assets that align with SCAD creative needs and branding. You will manage budgets and proactively communicate issues, approve freelance hires to ensure they meet required standards, and stay abreast of educational trends to position SCAD at the forefront of industry changes and audience preferences. You will provide clear direction on shot selections for final edits and content, ensure cohesive and compelling narratives, and brainstorm ideas with the art director to integrate visual elements that align with the department's vision and style.

The successful candidate has a creative mindset, high confidence, and the ability to motivate others. They should also have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and verbal communication skills. The candidate should demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to quickly pivot when addressing production challenges such as technical setups and scheduling conflicts. Exceptional interview skills are also necessary to help subjects feel comfortable on camera and ensure that they are accurately and authentically portrayed. The candidate should be able to respond positively to feedback, be willing to make changes, and manage multiple project deadlines simultaneously.

Travel required:

  • 10–20%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
