As a temporary admission summer assistant, you will be responsible for the welfare of almost 2,000 pre-college program participants, the majority of whom are minors. You will coordinate with various university departments, including the office of the registrar, financial services, transportation, housekeeping, and others, to address on-site student needs during pre-college programs. You will also ensure the retention of program assistants each summer by providing exceptional guidance and feedback during programming to build long-lasting relationships. Among other duties, you will serve as a chaperone during mealtimes, workshops, programming, and events. Additionally, you will serve as the initial point of contact for participants experiencing crises, ensuring they receive the assistance they need from relevant departments and elevating concerns to admission leaders.

In this position, you will set behavioral expectations for participants and conduct initial behavioral-concern conversations with them before involving relevant departments. You will instruct pre-college program assistants in fostering a supportive, inclusive campus environment conducive to academic success, demonstrating a commitment to the cause. Responsibilities include the dissemination of information on program policies, procedures, and the overall mission to staff in a timely manner. Among other duties, you will interact with guests, hosts, and staff and serve as a quality representative of SCAD at all events when present.
