As a university safety field operations manager, you will oversee daily patrol and static post assignments at SCAD Savannah. You will identify and implement best practices to provide comprehensive safety and security services for the SCAD community. You will also refine internal standards of the university safety patrol program to promote job knowledge, enhancing SCAD’s vision and commitment to provide the safest environment at all times. Continual and active engagement with local, state, federal, and international law enforcement is required to exchange and convey information related to criminal investigations and for real-time assessments of methodologies to ensure appropriate staffing and resource deployment.

In this role, you will use your influence to drive active engagement with all internal and external stakeholders and confer with management-level university personnel and law enforcement officials. This is necessary to confer operational and policy matters impact university operations. You will also leverage your strong job-based knowledge to plan special events in Savannah, which require the continual development, maintenance, and implementation of evolving crime-prevention programs.

This position will report directly to the director of university safety. The manager oversees a team of 10–15 professionally trained safety officers in different assignments, including foot patrols, vehicular patrols, static posts assignments, and bicycle patrols.

This position is a full-time role with 12 hour shifts.
We are currently only hiring for Night Shift (6pm-6am)

Minimum qualifications:     
• At least three years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
• Extensive experience in the development and implementation of patrol and staffing programs focused on training, building job knowledge and skills, customer service, and best safety practices
• University-specific experience with the relevant compliance requirements of the Jeanne Clery Act, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and Title IX

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
• Threat assessment certification
• Special event assessment certification
• Valid driver's license
• Valid U.S passport or able to obtain one within the first six months of employment

Travel required:
• 10–20%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
