As a video editor, you will help produce high-quality videos through a combination of editing techniques, color correction, post-audio processing, and asset management and delivery. You will receive and provide feedback and plan accordingly to ensure projects are completed on time. Responsibilities include timely communication with the executive media team about project statuses, the output of all video rough- and fine-cuts for internal review, and approval of all fine-cut formats for presentations, archives, and web and social media use. You will also organize and archive all completed projects.

In this role, you will perform visual finishing tasks such as color correction, masking, smoothing, and GFX integration. You will collaborate across teams to evaluate equipment needs, systems, solutions, and repairs. You will also work with other editors, producers, and videographers as needed. Additionally, you will assist with researching new equipment and preparing budget proposals for final output, media organization, storage, and archiving. You will produce audio for post-production, including leveling, music mixing, SFX, audio correction, and sweetening.

The ideal candidate possesses strong time management and organizational skills, along with a keen eye for detail. They have a proven ability to manage archiving systems efficiently and maintain a professional demeanor when representing executive content in presentations and media outlets. Additionally, they stay current on editing styles, trends, and technologies.

They approach assignments with enthusiasm and creativity while maintaining current creative and technical skills. The candidate arrives on time every day and actively communicates. They can quickly learn communication tools, including Slack, and contribute to idea generation. This individual meets deadlines and demonstrates knowledge of different video compression techniques for various outputs and playback methods for web, social media, and archival storage.

Minimum qualifications:      

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least five years of professional experience in video editing, encoding, compression, and social media formats
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite with strong proficiency in Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop
  • At least one year of driving experience
  • Reliable access to a vehicle

Preferred qualifications:      

  • Experience with DaVinci Resolve and Avid
  • Story producer experience
  • Knowledge and experience with AI 

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:  

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport

Travel required:  

  •  10–20%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
