SCAD seeks a visionary Web Content Strategist with proven professional experience working with online content in desktop and mobile environments.
Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Content Strategy, your primary responsibility will be the management, publication, and general maintenance of content on scad.edu and its many associated pages and mobile applications, including content audits and mapping efforts, site architecture, updating metadata, and more. You will collaborate with graphic designers, web developers, and content editors to shape digital messaging and assets that drive interactive initiatives and deliver exceptional digital experiences. You will also serve as the point person for applying SEO best practices and specific techniques for enhancing search rankings to ensure high visibility for online deliverables and continued growth in organic traffic, which includes producing SEO reports and site-search evaluations. Among other duties, you will also resolve coverage issues and error reports identified within Google Search Console.The qualified candidate is an extraordinary written and verbal communicator with experience writing standout headlines and working with online content in both desktop and mobile environments. Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, the candidate should be able to handle multiple projects within an Agile environment and can assess online content across varied web properties to provide and implement necessary improvements. The successful candidate is naturally inquisitive, maintains a positive mindset, and can approach problems proactively, including providing fresh and engaging copy on a limited basis. Using stellar interpersonal skills, the candidate should also be able to provide friendly guidance to nontechnical staff regarding the operation of online systems. Proven experience applying SEO best practices and techniques that enhance search rankings and organic traffic is vital. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts degree (English, journalism, marketing, writing, or professional communications concentration preferred). Master’s degree preferred.3-5 years of professional experience, a must, with at least 1-2 years of professional copywriting experience preferred.Strong working knowledge of content management systems. Superior verbal and written communications skills, with experience in writing headlines for web.Interpersonal skills that include the ability to provide friendly guidance to nontechnical staff regarding the operation of online systems. Meticulous attention to detail, an ability to juggle multiple projects and multiple elements within projects, and exceptional organizational skills. Ability to assess online content across multiple web properties, recommend improvements, and implement changes.Experience in applying SEO best practices and specific techniques for enhancing search rankings and organic traffic.Experience in managing sitemaps, redirect strategies, metadata, and indexing rules on a page-by-page basis.Strong familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and additional SEO research tools and monitoring software.Experience with hand-coding basic HTML.Basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, a plus.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
