SCAD seeks an experienced web developer with a track record of creating dynamic, interactive apps and websites focused on exceptional user experiences. This position is part of our growing team of award winning designers, developers and content managers who work together to conceive and execute the university’s diverse interactive initiatives.

Position Summary: This position requires a developer who is solid in the fundamentals of both front- and back-end development. Candidates should be particularly skilled in JavaScript and working with Web API/REST services. Experience with React and React Native frameworks as well as understanding object-oriented programming is preferred. You should have experience with one or more of the following: theming and creating modules for the Drupal content management system; Bootstrap or similar grid-based templating frameworks; working with React, Angular, or Vue frameworks; interacting with non-relational databases such as MongoDB or Redis; or interacting with Linux operating systems via the command line.

The ideal candidate is passionate about learning, applying, and sharing new skills. They should excel in a collaborative team environment and have strong communication and organization abilities. Familiarity with W3C standards and web accessibility is desired.

Minimum Qualifications: • At least three years working in a professional web development role
• Excellent command of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Working knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL
• Experience developing applications with PHP
• Familiarity with Git version control
• Bachelor’s degree

Certificates, licenses and registrations: Valid driver's license

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
